The 14,000 square foot addition included a new sanctuary, commons/gathering area, lobby and classrooms. A large portico for inclimate weather drop-off and pick-up was also part of the scope on this unique project.

The high school addition consisted of a new entrance, administrative offices, a commons area, and classrooms. A compressed schedule during the majority of the school session was one of the larger obstacles to overcome. Construction and demolition had to be contained to certain new areas. Although completion by August 1st was required, the connector hallway and renovation of existing classrooms could not begin until summer break started on May 25, 2007. Pedestrian and vehicular traffic, and normal school operations had to be maintained during demolition, foundation, erection, and completion of the entire new structure. The building was completed on schedule with construction beginning on December 2, 2003 and completed with the build-out June 25, 2004. The project was challenging due to the ground freezing during slab and foundation work in January and February. Our construction team installed the stone in the parking lot early, which made for an easy and clean site throughout the spring. A new parking area will be added to the back side of the building for the new tenant finish.

This facility features a Double Gymnasium with common area, classrooms, cafe, game room and locker rooms.

This atrium addition was challenging because we had to match the construction techniques used in the 1950’s. The copper flashing and exterior wood trim were the toughest parts of the project. The end result was a beautiful reception hall for after-mass gatherings and second story offices that are accessed by an elevator.

The Mattingly Corporation has built  several Goddard Schools, including locations in Zionesville, Geist, South Harbor, and Southport. The Zionsville school had to meet the town’s standards for historical design, red brick and white trim were used to match the local government center.
