The high school addition consisted of a new entrance, administrative offices, a commons area, and classrooms. A compressed schedule during the majority of the school session was one of the larger obstacles to overcome. Construction and demolition had to be contained to certain new areas. Although completion by August 1st was required, the connector hallway and renovation of existing classrooms could not begin until summer break started on May 25, 2007. Pedestrian and vehicular traffic, and normal school operations had to be maintained during demolition, foundation, erection, and completion of the entire new structure.
The Mattingly Corporation won the 2007 ABC Award of Excellence for this project.
